Biblical Proofs: VI. Our Responsibility
(ii) All Scripture is Profitable:
It should be no surprise to students of the Bible that numerous Scriptures are referenced to, or quoted from, the Old Testament in the New. At the time the New Testament was being written, the only Scriptures extant were that of the Old Testament. For the growing and edifying of the faith, God intends the use of ALL of His words. The Old Testament Scriptures are to be used for growth and understanding in the truth of God and His plan, not discarded and set aside like an old garment. Therefore, it is the responsibility of every Christian to know that ALL Scripture is profitable and worthy.
