Frequently Asked Questions

BibleStudy.org

What questions do you have about the Bible? Every Christian has some at one point or another. Eventually, they pop up and, to be honest, questions are strongly encouraged. When studying the Bible, this method allows one to expand upon their knowledge and thought.

If you feel a question has been asked before, do not be afraid to ask that question again. At the appropriate moment, everyone needs an answer to the same question. Consider the role of a teacher. Do not they undergo the same questions yearly upon the arrival of new students? Of course, they do. So do not be afraid to ask questions, no matter how simple or complex they may be. If someone does not have the answer, another one surely will.

Christ made it clear concerning questions. He stated:

Matthew 7:8 - AFV
8.   "For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it shall be opened."

And again:

Matthew 21:22 - AFV
22.   "And everything that you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive."

Although Christ is referring to asking God about our physical/spiritual wants and needs in this last passage, I’m focusing solely, instead, on the need to ask God for an understanding of Scripture. If conducted with the right attitude and intent, God encourages questions. Can God give you the wisdom you desire to study and understand the Bible? The answer is yes.

James. 1:5 - AFV
5.   However, if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, Who gives to everyone freely and does not reproach the one who asks; and it shall be given to him.

Either simple in nature or complex, questions are merely the means of probing into areas of knowledge not known or understood. The complexity of the question is less relevant than its answer. But regardless of its source, the key will always be within its accuracy of the truth. Diligence and research are necessary.

Keep in mind that not everyone who hears the truth desires it.

As an example, one question that may arise is this: Have you ever pondered on whether the Saturday Sabbath of the Bible should be observed instead of, as most professing Christian churches do, Sunday?

By every God-fearing Christian that practices the faith and has a love for His truth, this question raises a simple dilemma that must be addressed. Do I keep Saturday as the sabbath of rest, or Sunday? If an honest analysis of the Bible is performed, then the facts will undoubtedly prove that God commands the keeping of the Saturday Sabbath.

Do you know the following?

  • From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible teaches and commands the observance of the seventh-day weekly Sabbath rest of God stemming from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. In no way, shape, matter, or form do the Scriptures command, instruct, or transfer that command to any other day of the week, including Sunday. Pentecost, an annual Holy Day Sabbath of God, is the only high-sabbath that must fall on a Sunday because of its count.
  • Sunday-keeping Christian denominations acknowledge and understand the above-stated fact but disregard to inform, educate, and command the true observance of the Saturday Sabbath of God to their congregations. (See Roman Catholic and Protestant Confessions about Sunday from The Bible Sabbath Association, as well as Who Changed The Sabbath Law? from Insight From Our Heavenly Abba's Light.)
  • Throughout Christianity, by the power and authority of the Roman Catholic Church, Sunday observance was commanded and implemented to replace the Saturday Sabbath. Professing Christians who keep Sunday, instead of Saturday, are solely obeying her authority on this matter. (See Rome's Challenge.)

Is it not amazing what one question can do?

Remember, there are no dumb questions to ask.

Questions can be numerous and varied, but where do you go to find the answers if you don't know where to look? What if you do know where to look but do not know how to begin? Perhaps you may not have the time for vast research?

Remember, the only dumb thing to do is to NOT ask a question. There are no dumb questions to ask.

Barnabas Ministries, a small independent service organization, has created a Bible study website that is "dedicated to bringing the truth of God and His word to the world through the Internet." Their work has culminated numerous sources of study to answer practically all of your questions you may have about God and the Bible. For any growing Christian seeking to serve God truthfully, this is a valuable resource, all done through independent questions. Their website logo says it all, "You Have Questions...The Bible Has Answers!"

Church at Home

In a Christian's life, a circumstance may arise that will bring their faith into question or a clearer perspective. Some situations may include confusion over the Bible, uncomfortable church organizations, disagreements on church administration, questionable church doctrines, or the desire to seek God in ernest for the first time. For opportunities like these, another resource I recommend is Church at Home.
